Quintessentials Collection | Warby Parker

Since Spring is only a few weeks away, one of my main accessories is sunglasses! I love accessorizing with them, so when I heard about Warby Parker's newest collection of spring sunglasses, I couldn't resist!

If I could describe this collection of sunglasses by Warby Parker, I would call them classy yet practical.  They compliment an outfit without being too flashy. They pair well with your everyday attire for the workplace or school.  They are the perfect accessory to add to your wardrobe!

Now, let me introduce to you these new styles!

First, we have Harris. You can't go wrong with acetate. These are my favorite style and would compliment both the casual and business outfit.

Second, we have Hunt. Hunt sunglasses come in two sizes, regular and Large.

The next style is Raider. Raider also comes in two sizes: regular and Large. You can't go wrong with metals. These are a very popular style but I definetly see myself as more of a Hunt or Harris kinda of girl!

And finally, we have Abe, which is another popular metallic style!

How does it work?

Ready to pick our your new sunglasses? You can either visit a Warby Parker store or you have them shipped to your home! Pick five different frames and they will be shipped to your house for free. You get five days to try them out! Once you figure out the style you like, you go ahead and purchase them online and ship back the samples that were sent to you!  I really like this approach because it's hard sometimes to know how something will fit your face just by seeing a picture on a website.

I hope you enjoyed learning more about the new Quintessentials collection from Warby Parker!

What your favorite style?

Eye Creams: Which one is for you?

One of my goals for 2018 is to create a new skincare routine. As I am in the late 20s, I want to focus more on my skincare to keep it looking fresh and youthful. Reviews.com reached out to me and asked if I would check out their 'Best of Eye Cream for 2017' guide and I said yes!

Reviews.com took a look at over 300 hundred different eye creams on the market and then discussed them with dermatologists and industry experts. They tested multiple brands across multiple price points and looked at things like packaging, texture, smell, and application. The first thing they did was cut all eye creams with common skin irritants,  such as parabens, fragrances, and mineral oils, which then cut the list down to 119 products.

Second, they looked for  ingredients/formulas that treat the three major concern with eye care: wrinkles, dark circles, and puffiness. For wrinkles, they looked for retinoids, which encourages the production of collagen. For dark circles, they looked for caffeine, which helps shrink blood vessels and lessens the dark circles less noticeable. Finally, for puffiness, they looked for caffeine and antioxidants.

To see the finalists in each category, head over to https://www.reviews.com/best-eye-cream/

Do you use an eye cream? If so, share your favorites in the comments section!

September 2017 Favorites | Elizabeth Kathryn

Another month over means time for another favorites post! I haven't done one of these in ages, so I kept a small list this past month of a few of my favorites things!

1) Beverage - Arizona Zero Calorie Green Tea with Ginseng
I know this is totally random but my Mom actually introduced me to this green tea and now I drink it almost everyday! There is just something so refreshing about it and it tastes really good with zero calories! It also contains honey and ginseng! You should definetly give this a try!

2) Food - Hannaford Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal
I have been eating oatmeal for breakfast everyday for the past two months or so and mainly buy store brand t save a few bucks. We typically do our grocery shopping at Hannaford, a grocery-store chain in the northeast, and their Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal has become my favorite. It doesn't really taste like a cinnamon roll but I LOVE the cinnamon flavor it has and really makes eating my breakfast something I enjoy. I also haven't been eating breakfast until around 10:00am, so this whole waiting to eat thing has been working out. My body is now used to not eating until mid-morning, which I think is helping with my goals!

3) App - Candy Crush
I have been playing this literally every night before I go to bed. I am currently stuck on level 92! There is something relaxing yet frustrating about playing this game but I am really enjoying it again!

4) Workout - Orangetheory fitness
Over the summer, my work had a well ness fair and got I voucher to try out a free class at Orangetheory fitness. OTF is a heart rate based interval training class which is based on Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC) aka the "afterburn". You can burn an estimated 500 to 1000 calories in their 60 minute class. You do a combination of free weights/rowing/treadmill over the duration of 60 minutes having a coach guide you through the various workouts. I personally love the atmosphere and highly recommend you sign up a free class on their website! It is a little pricey but not as expensive as some HIIT workouts I have tried in the past!

Que Bella Purifying Tee Tree and Witch Havel Mud Mask: A Review

My skin is currently super broken out and dry from this extremely cold weather, so I didn't try out one of these Que Bella masks that I picked up at Target a few months ago. The mask I tried out is the Que Bella Purifying Tea Tree and Witch Hazel mud mask. This mask is supposed to draw out impurities and make your skin feel revived, which is perfect for the current condition of my skin. This mask doesn't have a very strong smell when you apply to the face. It hardens in about 10-15 minutes. You can feel the tea tree and witch hazel working on your skin. Overall, I recommend this someone who has acne-prone skin. These are extremely affordable, but I have only been able to find these masks at Target.

What is your favorite face mask?

First Impressions: L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Intenza Mascara

Hi everybody! Today I wanted to share with you a first impression of the L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Intenza Mascara. I got this mascara in my Target Women's Beauty Box for Winter 2014. First of all I really like the packaging of this mascara. It is very sleek and easy to use. The wand also comes separate from the mascara itself, so that is a plus in my book. I like the formula of this mascara, it isn't too dry or too wet. I didn't really notice this mascara doing a whole lot for my lashes. They didn't really get a lot of volume or length and I didn't like how it makes my lashes look clumped together, almost spidery.
If I had to rate this mascara, I would give it a 3.5/5

Did you like this mascara?

My Birthday Wishlist

*some links are affiliate links*

My 25th birthday is February 17th and here are a few things on my birthday wish list:

iMac - My current MacBook Pro is about to hit the pan, so I would love to invest in a brand new desktop computer from Apple. The model I want is the 21.5 inch, 2.7 GHz! It a hefty price of $1299.00 but it would be well worth the splurge because my current laptop has lasted almost 5 years!

Ikea Micke Desk - I currently have the Leksvik desk and don't get me wrong I love it, but it takes up way too much space in my small apartment. My fiance is moving in with me soon and we are going to convert my spare room into in office. We will need to fit two desks, a tv stand, and some shelves, so I want to downsize to a more compact desk, that also has more storage than my current one.

Milk Frother - I really want to be able to make Chai Tea Lattes at home and I forget who I watched on YouTube but I really want to get a milk frother to make the yummy foam!

Alex & Ani bracelets - I want to grow my collection of these trendy bracelets. I want three in particular, the E Initial, the Aquarius bangle, and the February Birthstone bangle.

Fresh Start: Healthy Living

Google

For Christmas, my sister purchased me a few products from her nutrition program to help jump start my new healthy lifestyle. My main goal this year is to get healthy and in shape. My wedding is in 9 months and I would really like to get toned and fit.

Since starting this program, I have noticed that my face looks puffy. I have also noticed that my middle section looks less bloated. These are the exact things that I have been looking to improve in myself this year. This best part about this program is that it is NOT a diet. It is a lifestyle change.

My typical diet everyday includes the following:
-A meal replacement protein shake or protein bar
-A mid-morning snack, usually a Fiber One Brownie Bar
-Lunch is usually a Smart Ones Frozen Meal or a can of soup
-Afternoon snack, usually a rice cake
-Dinner is whatever I feel like eating
-I take 1-2 oz of the cleanse drink every night before I go to bed

My current weight is 140 lbs. I am hoping to lose 10 pounds before I do my wedding dress fittings this summer. I do notice this program is working on making me healthier because three people in my office have come down with terrible viral infections and I have not gotten sick yet!

Valentine's Day Tag (Collab)

Hi everybody! I know this post might be going up a little bit early as Valentine's Day is still a little bit over a month away, but I collaborated with Avianne from The Body Silk Blog and to create this tag! Feel free do to do this tag and leave your posts in the comments below! Here are the questions:

  • Homemade or store-bought gifts? I don't really have a preference to be honest but homemade gifts are always add more of a personal touch to a gift

  • Favorite Romantic/Love Movie? My favorite has to be Love Actually

  • Favorite Love Song? I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz or A Thousand Years by Christina Perri

  • Who is your celebrity crush? Shemar Moore from Criminal Minds is good looking man

  • Red or pink lipstick?I don't really wear lipstick but I would probably choose a nude pink

  • Do you decorate for valentine's day? I like to decorate but I don't have a ton of decorations. I definitely need to pick up some cute things this year from Target or HomeGoods.

  • Favorite brand of chocolate? Lindt

  • Single pringle or taken bacon? taken bacon, getting married on October 24, 2015!!

  • What did you wear last valentine's day? We didn't do anything special for valentine's day last year, so it was just a casual outfit, jeans and a sweater

  • Favorite Valentine's day memory? I don't have many good memories of valentine's day but I always like getting little goodie bags from my mom

Happy Valentine's Day!

Influenster Dry Spray VoxBox Review

Thanks to Influenster, I got the opportunity to try out this awesome new deodorant by Degree. It is a spray-on deodorant that is supposed to last up to 48 hours! Here are a few of my thoughts on this product. First, I like the sleek design of the can so it doesn't take up a lot of space on my vanity. Second, it smells so good! There's nothing worse than having smelly arm pits and this stuff does not disappoint! I wore it to work and I didn't have to reapply it all day! It also had a cooling sensation when you it apply it as well. One can is supposed to last up to 8 weeks, so we'll see if it really last that long.
Degree DrySpray retails for approximately $4.99 at your local Walmart

Would you try this product?

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes

2015 New Year's Resolution

Google

As we all know January 1st is right around the corner and everybody will be making their resolutions for the new year. I read an awesome article (this one too) that talks about resolutions every 20-something should make and here are my goals/resolutions for 2015:

  1. Get into Shape/Eat Healthier: I think these are on everybody's resolutions but I am getting married in 2015, so I would really like to lose a few pounds before my wedding. I will try to do this by taking the stair more often and parking further away in parking lots.
  2. Spend More Time with Family: This is a big one. Once I am married, I will be spending the majority of the time with my future husband.
  3. Save Money: This is a big one for everybody. I would like to build up my savings even more, so I have they money when it comes time to get a new car or put a down payment on a house/townhouse/condo/etc.
  4. Travel to New Places: We are planning on going to California for our honeymoon, so that is a new place for me. I have never been to the west coast, let alone west of Buffalo, NY.
  5. Get Organized: My fiance is moving in with me in the Spring, so I need to get rid of the clutter and junk I have, to make room for all of his things.
  6. Turn Off the iPhone: This is a hard challenge. My goal is spend less time of the phone and more time interacting with friends and family. I'd also like to not sit in bed looking through my phone right before bed.
  7. Do more Chores: I want to develop a habit of cleaning my apartment, like vacuuming on Wednesdays or Dusting on Sundays.
  8. Drink less coffee:  This is a bold challenge for me but I want to drink more green tea and water.
  9. Make one video and one blogpost a week: I have been very sporadic in 2014 with my blog and videos. I want to try to focus more on consistency and quality rather than just putting up something.
  10. Floss more often: This is a habit I need to break. I want to start flossing more consistently.

What are your resolutions for 2015?

Ways to Fight the Common Cold

Google

Over the past week, I have had come down with a cold. I had a stuffy nose, sore throat, etc.
Here are the things I have done this week to try and fight off this cold:

  • Eat Chicken Noodle Soup
  • Drinks lots of fluids, such as Orange Juice, Tea, Water, etc.
  • Takes lots and lots of Vitamin C! I recommend Emergen-C Super Orange
  • Take Zinc when you start feeling sick, it helps support your immune system
  • Use a Humidifier when you sleep to help aid in your congestion
  • Take a hot bath or shower, the steam will help open up your sinuses
  • Rub  Vicks Vaporub on your chest and below your nose, it helps you breathe better
  • Rest! The number one thing you need when you have a cold is rest!
  • Only see your Doctor if the symptoms last more than seven (7) days, you may have a sinus infection or something worse that may need to be treated by antibiotics

Hope this helps if you are currently fighting the common cold
