Nail of the Day: Wet n Wild Silvivor

Today's nail of the day post features Wet n Wild's new Silvivor polish. I picked it up a couple of weeks ago and finally decided to test it out. This is a gorgeous metallic silver polish, that is absolutely perfect for the holiday season, especially New Year's Eve! I could also see this polish being popular around Homecoming and/or Prom season as well!

one coat, natural lighting

This photo does not do this polish justice!  It appears very streaky and not opaque in the photo but the polish is the complete opposite! I applied one coat and the polish was opaque! You could apply two coats but I don't see a reason why, unless you encounter streaking. I love the formula of these polishes.

You can find Wet n Wild at drugstores for around $1.99 dollars.

Would you wear this polish?

Monthly Look-See: October 2012

Every month I try to check in with my readers to let them know what is going on in my life!

Work: Well as some of you may know who follow me on twitter, I quit my job at the beginning of the month. In my August Monthly Look-See, I reported to you guys that I got a new job as a cell center/help desk person for a small company. That didn't work out very well. I am now currently employed and on the hunt for a new job in the IT (information technology) world. I have had three interviews in the past two weeks and hope to get a job from one of those three interviews.

Life: Since I haven't been working, I have been able to focus heavily on my Youtube videos and blog posts! I have been frequently posting both videos and blog posts, in hope to make a small income on my favorite hobby once I gain more subscribers/readers. I know it will be a while before that happens but I still enjoy putting out new content for you!

Makeup no buy:  My makeup no buy has been going very well. I only recently bought a few new nail polishes and a new mascara (check out this video to find out what I got). I actually got rid of a lot of my older makeup last week because it has expired and I didn't want to use expired makeup. I plan on sticking with this until I get a new job because I can't spend extra money on new makeup :(

Review: Rimmel Waterproof Sexy Curves Mascara

Last week I took a small road-trip to Northern Vermont for a job interview and stopped in a local drugstore to pick u some snacks for my night at the hotel. I was browsing the makeup section and found this mascara on sale for $3.44 dollars.

Rimmel Waterproof Sexy Curves Mascara
First off, I love the packaging, it is very slim and the color is just gorgeous!

wand
This is the part of the mascara I don't like - the wand! As you can see above, the wand has a very odd shape that makes this mascara very difficult to work with!

Here are the before and after pictures:

before mascara
Before applying mascara, curled lashes

with mascara
After applying mascara

As you can see there isn't a huge difference in the appearance of my lashes. My lashes do appear to be slightly longer but they don't have any added volume. The only way I found I could work with this mascara was by moving the wand in a back-and-forth motion up and down my lashes. The "normal" way I apply mascara didn't work. I also don't like how this mascara can be clumpy if you dont comb out your lashes right after applying the mascara.

Final Thoughts: It isn't the greatest mascara in the world and I have tried other drugstore mascaras that have given me better results.

I want to know if you have tried this mascara and had any better luck than I had?

All About Influenster

So you may have heard all the talk about this website called Influenster. Influenster is an online community where "trendsetters" can share their love of products and experiences. Influenster creates a link between brands and trendsetters. Members of influenster gain "badges" , to prove their influence of a certain area. These badges are earned by sharing websites, taking surveys, writing reviews, etc. Influensters can gain access to content and sales of products based on their influence and expertise of different products and experiences. They can receive free products, based on the influenster "score" which is new with the site revamp!

Influenster currently has a few different programs the "trendsetters" can participate in. The first is the Bride-to-be VoxBox, which goes out to future brides. The second program is the Naturals VoxBox, which goes out to those who are experts in the realm of all natural products. A third program is the Beauty Blogger VoxBox, which goes out to beauty bloggers such as myself, who call themselves "experts" in the world of beauty(makeup,cosmetics,etc.). These programs send the members free products, in return for reviews of the products on the Influenster site.  Members are not guaranteed to be able to participate in these programs, as they go out based on several different criteria.Pretty cool idea, right?

My New Fitness Routine!!

Over the last few months, I have gained a little bit of weight. I normally weigh around 112 lbs but my weight fluctuated to around 120 lbs recently. Now, considering I am only 5'2", that is a little higher than usual and I have noticed the weight gain mainly in my stomach and thigh areas.

I have officially decided to start working out *YAY*

I don't really intend on working out to lose weight because if I lose too much weight, it will be unhealthy. I have decided on a simple workout regiment that will fit easily into my current schedule. I want to be healthier and to tone my body.

So right now, I plan on doing cardio about 2-3 times a week by going to 30 minute walks. I can either go by myself, with a friend or even by walking my dog! For toning, I plan on doing some sort of home workout video, such as Pilates, Tae-bo, or the Wii Fit. I want to do these types of workouts twice a week. Pilates is great for toning your core areas! Tae-bo is basically a form of kick-boxing that is a pretty intense workout. The Wii Fit could be for those days where I am feeling lazy and want to do something more simple.

If you have any suggestions on home workout videos, or any suggestions about my fitness routine, please leave them in the comments!

Nail of the Day - Color Club Put a Pin In It

Today's nail of the day post features a special nail polish. This nail polish by Color Club was created in a collaboration between Birchbox and Color Club. I don't exactly understand the name of this polish but hey, it's a gorgeous color :) I got this nail polish in my September Birchbox. Birchbox describes this color as a "gilded rose gold", which is pretty much a perfect description of the color.

Put a Pin In It
one coat, natural light

I really this nail polish! Color club polishes have excellent pigmentation and this polish is no less! The only problem I have with these polishes is that they are extremely difficult to take off your nails. Besides that, I love them!

Full size Color Club polishes retail for approximately $8.00 dollars.
