Summer Makeup with Profusion Cosmetics

Life is full of rules. Pay your bills. Go to work. Skip the makeup during the summer. Some more rules are important than the others but I find that makeup is an essential part of a women's repertoire. I wear makeup everyday to work and when Profusion Cosmetics reached out and asked if I wanted to check out some of their products, I had to say yes!

The highlight & contour palette contains six shades to created a naturally radiant look or glowy look for a hot, summers night out. It retails for only $5.00 USD!!

The Mixed Metals Peach palette contains nine eyeshadows to create the perfect edgy look! It retails for only $10.00 USD!

The mixed metals lip creme can be worn alone or layered with the mixed metals lip liner to create the perfect metallic look.

I swatched both the mixed metals liner and lip creme and was very impressed! The consistency is a little sticky but most liquid products are! I thought the color was gorgeous and is something I wouldn't necessarily gravitate towards myself. The lip liner did not hurt when I applied to my wrist like some liners can!

I also decided to swatch all of the eyeshadows from the Mixed Metals Peach palette. I did not use a primer on my skin to prep for the shadows. I have to say the colors are very beautiful and pigmented but that did not translate when swatched on my skin. They had a very dry and chalky texture and were not buttery. The more glittery shades, Certain and Bordeaux, were very pigmented and the texture for much more buttery.

So do I like these products? I think these would be great for somebody who is just getting start with makeup and wants to buy products without breaking the bank. They are also cruelty-free which is pretty awesome too!
Would I repurchase? I sent was these products for review purposes. I am not affiliated with Profusion cosmetics. This are my honest review of the products I was sent.
Do I recommend? I would recommend the lip creme and lip liner. Skip the eyeshadows.

You can find Profusion Cosmetics online are at your local Target store!

Que Bella Purifying Tee Tree and Witch Havel Mud Mask: A Review

My skin is currently super broken out and dry from this extremely cold weather, so I didn't try out one of these Que Bella masks that I picked up at Target a few months ago. The mask I tried out is the Que Bella Purifying Tea Tree and Witch Hazel mud mask. This mask is supposed to draw out impurities and make your skin feel revived, which is perfect for the current condition of my skin. This mask doesn't have a very strong smell when you apply to the face. It hardens in about 10-15 minutes. You can feel the tea tree and witch hazel working on your skin. Overall, I recommend this someone who has acne-prone skin. These are extremely affordable, but I have only been able to find these masks at Target.

What is your favorite face mask?

My First Memebox: Memebox #11 Unboxing

*affiliate links below*

Today I am doing an unboxing of my very first Memebox, Memebox Global #11. If you're never head of Memebox, they are another beauty subscription service, but they include Korean-beauty products in their boxes. They have many different box options, including skincare, makeup, body, etc. Their boxes also come at different price points, based on how many products you receive in the box.
Here are the products I received

Dear by Enprani: Moistful Booskin $31 USD
This is supposed to be used as a toner and skin booster, thus being the first product in your skincare routine. I am eager to try out this product and see the results.

Too Cool for School Dinoplaz Cinema City CC Cream $30 USD
I have always wanted to try a CC Cream and this one has a adorable packaging.
This is supposed to brighten your skin, improve  your complexion, and protect from the sun.
Witch's Pouch Radiant Lollitint #3 Funky Balloon $14 USD
I am not a huge lip product fan, so I might give this away to one of my sisters or my mom

llli Fresh Moisturizer Body Lotion $24 USD
This has a nice scent and am looking forward to applying to my arms and legs

Hope girl Nail Travel Bling Bling Set
This contains three small nail polishes and I will try them and do a separate review

Purederm Botanical Choice Pure Solution Eye Cream $34 USD
I have been dying to get my hands on an eye cream and this one looks promising! I will definitely post a review once I have used this product for a while, I just hope it doesn't break me out!

llli Green Tea Brightening Mask $3 USD
When I first saw this in the box, I was very confused as to what I got. It is a 100% cotton mask drenched with green tea, amino acids, minerals, and organic acids. It is supposed to refresh dehydrated skin. I am looking forward to this mask!

Total Memebox Worth - $136 USD
Membox Price - $28 USD

Overall impressions: Very excited to try everything I received except the lip product. I thought this was a very well-rounded box with products from many different areas of beauty. I am definitely going to purchase from Memebox in the future. The only downside is that since the boxes come shipped from Korea, they take approximately 15-25 business days to arrive on your doorstep. To purchase a Memebox, just go to their website: http://us.memebox.com/

What did you think of Memebox Global #11? If you purchased, which item was your favorite?

Current Beauty Favorites [May 2014]

photo edited using Picmonkey

Hi everybody! I really cannot believe how fast the month of May flew by! It's already the time for prom and graduations and all that jazz! I wanted to keep my "favorites" simple this month by doing a current favorites post. I don't tend to change up my routine very often I thought I would just share my current favorite beauty products for the month of May!

Urban Decay Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray
I have had this spray in my collection for quite some time now. I got a sample back in the winter when Placed an online order with Sephora and fell in love. I don't really use this as a setting spray but I use it under my moisturizer to help combat the redness on my face. I also notice it does help with oil control.

Maybelline Baby Lips
I don't think I have to say how much I love these lip balms. They are a great alternative to using a Chapstick because they smell lovely and some have a slight color tint. I have way too many in my collection and always carry them in my everyday purse to work, running errands, etc.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
I have also had this powder in my collection for a very long time. I use it on an almost daily basis to help control my oily skin. I use the Transparent shade because it looks nicest on my skin.

Sephora eyeshadow in Aspen Summit
I received this tiny little eyeshadow and a makeup swap and I am glad I did! It works wonders in the inner corner. It helps me look more awake in the morning when I am still sleepy! It doesn't have fallout throughout the day and the pigmentation holds if you use an eyeshadow primer.

NYX HD Eyeshadow Primer
How did I not use this primer before? This primer works better than any eyeshadow primer I have ever used, including the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer. It has a super thick formula which just holds your eyeshadow in place all day long. Plus, it's super inexpensive at the drugstore!

Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara
I just did a whole blog post explaining how much I enjoy this product, check it out here.

Aveeno ultra-calming makeup wipes
These have been  favorite makeup wipe of mine for a long time! My sister actually let me try hers and that's how I came to love them! These do a great job at taking all of your makeup off. They do not irritate my skin nor do they hurt my eyes. They are also inexpensive for makeup wipes.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
There is a reason why Urban Decay is so popular these days. They make some of the best makeup palettes and eyeshadows in my opinion. These matte eyeshadows just glide onto your eyelids and don't budge all day long! This palette is full of amazing natural shades that can be worn during the day or made more bold for a night out. I use it everyday and it was a great investment.

30-Day AB Challenge [June Fitness Goal]

So, I can admit that I have gained some weight over the past year. I tried to challenge myself to workout and eat better a couple month ago and I failed miserably. A friend of mine on Facebook joined this challenge and I figured, I should try it too! There really is no reason why I can't find time to workout and this challenge is perfect! It only requires a little bit of work each day and I think this is something I can stick to. Of course, I will need to limit the amount of "junk foods" while doing this challenge, to really get the full potential out of it.  If you're interested, here's a link to the Facebook event:

Have you ever participated in one of these "30 day challenges"? What were your results?

Review: QSpeed Fast Melt CoQ10 tablets

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I recently got the opportunity to try out this QSpeed Fast Melt CoQ10 dietary supplement of CoQ10. If you don't know, Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a nutrient found in all the cells in your body and is essential in the production of energy and overall heart health. This nutrient also ensures that your body's immune, cardiovascular, aging, and neurological systems are performing at an optimal level.  You are supposed to take 1-2 tablets a day. If taking in conjunction with exercise, you are supposed to take approximately 40 minutes before your workout routine. This tablet is free from gluten, yeast, soy, milk, dairy, corn, sodium, preservatives, artificial coloring, sugar, starch, and artificial coloring. It also dissolves on your tongue!

My thoughts: Ok, this tablet has a very grainy texture when dissolving and it took a long time to dissolve on my tongue. It tasted a little bit like orange but I did not like the flavor or texture.
I would not recommend this product if you are not a fan of dissolvable tablets.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Review: Rimmel Max Bold Curves VS Covergirl Clump Crusher

Hello beauties and thanks for stopped by! Today I am going to do a comparison review of the Rimmel Max Bold Curves mascara to the Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara. I am a huge mascara fan and it is essential to my daily makeup routine.

The Rimmel Max Bold Curves mascara is a newer additional to my collection. I got it in a makeup swap a little bit ago and have been using it ever since. I am not the biggest fan of this mascara for a couple reasons. First, it is extremely clumpy and messy to apply. I usually have to use a tissue on the brush to remove excess product before applying to my lashes. Second, the wand is too big. I struggle applying this without getting mascara all over my face, which you can see in the above picture. It also doesn't do a good job at curling or lengthening my lashes, except my lower lashes; it works well on the lower lashes.  It claims to do the opposite of everything it is lacking.
This retails for around $7.00 dollars.

The Covergirl Clump Crusher has been in my makeup collection since last summer. I absolutely adore this mascara. I have never had an issue with it being clumpy or messy to apply. It really gives your lashes that extra something, especially if your curl them prior to applying the product. The mascara does an excellent job at curling and lengthening my lashes. This retails for around $8.00 dollars.

So, I think it is very clear that the Covergirl Clump Clusher is the winner here. The Rimmel mascara just doesn't compare to the Covergirl mascara. It is messy, clumpy, and hard to work with. I guess I am onto looking for a better and greater mascara than the Covergirl Clump Crusher.

Two Years

My friend Rachel from cucpakes & mimosas did a post recently that inspired me to a similar one. I graduated from the SUNY - University at Albany in May 2012 with my Bachelors degree in Information Services. I seriously cannot believe I have been out of college for two years and been out of high school for 6 years! So much has happened in my life in the past two years that I thought I would reminisce:
  1. Got my first professional job - application specialist at a local hospital's information services dept.
  2. Got my first apartment
  3. Got promoted to a senior application application specialist within a year of starting my job
  4. Got engaged on February 9th, 2014 to my boyfriend of six years; we're getting married on October 24th, 2015!
It has been the best two years of my life! I am so proud of what I have accomplished and cannot wait to see what the future holds for me! Congrats to all recent graduates!

Updated Makeup Collection & Storage - May 2014

It's time for an updated makeup collection & storage video. I have been collecting makeup for about 5 years now. I store most of my makeup in a MUJI Acrylic case. I also store my makeup brushes in MUJI pen holders. I love the sophisticated look of acrylic cases. I have an acrylic stand to store all of my nail polishes too! If you want me to do a separate blog post or video on any the products featured in this video, please leave a comment below. Hope you enjoy!

Review: Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal Mascara

affiliate links below

I went to the drugstore last week with my sister and saw a display with the new Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal Mascara. I have never been fond of Maybelline mascara, but wanted to give this new mascara a try. First of all, I really like the packaging of this mascara, perfect for spring and summer! The wand on this mascara is huge! I find it is easy to apply this to the upper lashes but more difficult to apply to the lower lashes because it is so large. It also gets a little clumpy on the lower lashes for some weird reason, but I do enjoy the formula. It not too dry or wet. Overall, its a pretty decent drugstore mascara. It is a little expensive, running about $8.50 at my local CVS, but that is easy to get around with coupons, sales, discounts, etc.
I would recommend this mascara to anybody who enjoys Maybelline mascara.

My fiance decided to take a few beauty shots of me applying the mascara, so here's a little treat :)
