2014 Blogger Challenge: Skincare

*some links are affiliate links*

This post is going to be about my current skincare routine! I have a very basic routine when it comes to skincare and have just started to incorporate new products, such as oils and masks into my routine. I have been using the Ole Henriksen african red tea foaming cleanser as my face wash lately. It does a nice job at washing my face and helps wake me up in the morning when I am showering half asleep.  My current moisturizer is the clean & clear dual action moisturizer , which is great because it contains salicyclic acid to help treate and prevent acne, which we all know I don't have the best skin on the planet. Before I apply my moisturizer I have been using the Urban Decay B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray, which hydrates and preps skin for makeup. I love it and can't wait to buy a full size!
Some new additions to my skincare routine are masks and oils. I got the Tarte Maracuja oil and Boscia Clarifying Detox mask as part of the Sephora Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale. To be honest, I am not a huge fan of the Maracuja oil. I haven't noticed a huge difference in my skin from using it for the past for month or so. The mask, however, it pulling all the zits and pimples from underneath my skin out. I have had a lot of breakouts but I love how this mask feels on my face and how my skin feels after I use it. I tend to use the mask twice a week. Lastly, I use the toner once and a while to help remove and leftover makeup. It also makes my skin feel refreshed.

I hope you have enjoyed this post and stay tune for topic three of the 2014 Blogger Challenge!

Guest Post: LungLeavin’ Day

Mesothelioma Cancer

My name is Cameron Von St. James and I am reaching out to you today because I would like to share something special with you. I found your blog while searching for people who’ve posted about resolutions of theirs. I noticed that you’ve done so and I was wondering if you’d be willing to help me with a cause that means a lot to me!
Eight years ago, my wife Heather was diagnosed with mesothelioma; a rare cancer that kills most people within 2 years of diagnosis.  She had just given birth to our daughter Lily, and was only given 15 months to live.  After a life saving surgery that included the removal of her left lung, LungLeavin’ Day was born.  This will be the 8th year that we celebrate!
The purpose of LungLeavin’ Day is to encourage others to face their fears!  Each year, we gather around a fire in our backyard with our friends and family, write our biggest fears on a plate and smash them into the fire.  We celebrate for those who are no longer with us, for those who continue to fight, for those who are currently going through a tough time in their life, and most importantly, we celebrate life!
This year, we are asking bloggers to participate and spread the word about LungLeavin’ Day.  We created an interactive page  mesothelioma.com/heather/lungleavinday  that tells the full story of our special day.  We hope you will check it out and share it on your blog.  It would mean so much to Heather and I.  Let me know what you think.
Thank you so much,

What I've Been Watching Lately #2

So, you're probably wondering where I've been this past week since I haven't posted in a little bit. I posted almost everyday during the week of New Years, so I took some tie off from blogging and YouTube. I previously did this post back in November, which I have linked above, but I wanted to share with you the shows I have been watching lately.
Pretty Little Liars is on Tuesday nights at 8pm EST on ABC Family.

Pretty Little Liars - Season 4 just started this past week and I am very curious where the show is going this season. I mean, how much longer can we wait for an explanation about who Ali fears the most? I honestly think it is either Wren or somebody else on the show that is completely not obvious...

Ravenswood - I really enjoyed when this show started this fall and now that it's back, I want to know more about the curse in Ravenswood. A lot people don't enjoy this show but I think it is a breath of fresh air for ABCFamily. Ravenswood is on Tuesday nights at 9pm EST on ABCFamily.

Downton Abbey - Shut the front door! We have been waiting almost a year for this show to come back and I am obsessed! I am curious to where the writers are taking this show with all the stuff that went down in season. The show is on Sunday nights at 9pm EST on PBS.

What shows have you been watching??

International Secret Santa Swap Goodies

I participated in a second swap makeup/beauty this year and here are the goodies I received. This swap was hosted by the lovely Sandra of The Puzzle of Sandra's Life. First of all, how adorable is the package I received!? I loved the wrapping paper my swap partner used on the package! My swap partner was way too kind. She sent me products by the brand Essence, which I can't buy here in the USA, some Lush lip products and a few candies. I have already tried the Kiki candies and the remind me of Stabursts but the flavor is very different. I sent a package to Sanja of Sparkle with laughter, who lives in Slovenia!

Hello 2014, Goodbye 2013!

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great New Year's and got to celebrate with family and friends. Looking back at 2013, I would say it was a pretty darn good year. I moved into my first apartment and got a promotion at my job, which I also celebrated my one-year at my job in November. I went on vacation this August with my family and was able to see my favorite football team! The saddest part of 2013 was having to put down our family dog Penny, she was 17 years old.

What are my goals for 2014?

I want to live a healtheir lifestyle, ie eating less junk foods
I want to spend more time with my family
I want to take more day/weekend trips
I want to save more money and pay off my student loans
To keep working consistently on my blog and youtube channel
