Eye Creams: Which one is for you?

One of my goals for 2018 is to create a new skincare routine. As I am in the late 20s, I want to focus more on my skincare to keep it looking fresh and youthful. Reviews.com reached out to me and asked if I would check out their 'Best of Eye Cream for 2017' guide and I said yes!

Reviews.com took a look at over 300 hundred different eye creams on the market and then discussed them with dermatologists and industry experts. They tested multiple brands across multiple price points and looked at things like packaging, texture, smell, and application. The first thing they did was cut all eye creams with common skin irritants,  such as parabens, fragrances, and mineral oils, which then cut the list down to 119 products.

Second, they looked for  ingredients/formulas that treat the three major concern with eye care: wrinkles, dark circles, and puffiness. For wrinkles, they looked for retinoids, which encourages the production of collagen. For dark circles, they looked for caffeine, which helps shrink blood vessels and lessens the dark circles less noticeable. Finally, for puffiness, they looked for caffeine and antioxidants.

2014 Blogger Challenge: Skincare

*some links are affiliate links*

This post is going to be about my current skincare routine! I have a very basic routine when it comes to skincare and have just started to incorporate new products, such as oils and masks into my routine. I have been using the Ole Henriksen african red tea foaming cleanser as my face wash lately. It does a nice job at washing my face and helps wake me up in the morning when I am showering half asleep.  My current moisturizer is the clean & clear dual action moisturizer , which is great because it contains salicyclic acid to help treate and prevent acne, which we all know I don't have the best skin on the planet. Before I apply my moisturizer I have been using the Urban Decay B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray, which hydrates and preps skin for makeup. I love it and can't wait to buy a full size!
Some new additions to my skincare routine are masks and oils. I got the Tarte Maracuja oil and Boscia Clarifying Detox mask as part of the Sephora Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale. To be honest, I am not a huge fan of the Maracuja oil. I haven't noticed a huge difference in my skin from using it for the past for month or so. The mask, however, it pulling all the zits and pimples from underneath my skin out. I have had a lot of breakouts but I love how this mask feels on my face and how my skin feels after I use it. I tend to use the mask twice a week. Lastly, I use the toner once and a while to help remove and leftover makeup. It also makes my skin feel refreshed.

I hope you have enjoyed this post and stay tune for topic three of the 2014 Blogger Challenge!
