High School Reflection

It has been quite some time since I last walked the halls of my high school. I graduated high school in June 2008 and though it would be appropriate to reflect on my four years in high school.

I attended a very small public high school. On my first day of high school in 2004, I can remember exactly what I wore, a jean mini skirt and a t-shirt.  When I arrived at the school via the school bus, a teacher grabbed my attention because my skirt was riding up a little too high in the back, I was so embarrassed! I also still had a full mouth of braces. I took all your standard freshman classes: global history, spanish 1, earth science, band, algebra, english 9 and PE. Freshman year I was on the JV Volleyball team. This was the only year I ever participated in sports. I also participated in Odyssey of the Mind and Peer Leadership.

Sophomore year as a bit of an improvement. I was involved in a few clubs, such as Drama Club, SADD, Odyssey of the Mind and Peer Leadership. I loved the clubs I was in and I highly recommend you joins clubs in high school to make friends. I met my current boyfriend this year of high school (we didn't actually start dating until I was a senior). I took classes in global history, english 10, biology , geometry,  Spanish 2,band, chorus and PE. I dissected a frog in biology :)

Junior year of high school was my last favorite year because it was my most challenging year academically. I took Regents English (Regents are New York state exams), Chemistry, Advanced Algebra/Trig, US History, Spanish 3 and PE. I took a total of five regents exams this year! These are three-hour tests that New York state requires all students to take. The regents program has vastly changed since I graduated in 2008. I also started working my junior year at a local fast-food joint and got my license! I also was involved in the same clubs as sophomore year.

Senior year!! My senior year was nostalgic at most. It wasn't very special. I took Spanish 4, PIG/Economics, Physics, Pre-Calculus, AP English Literature, Band and PE. I did go to my senior prom with my now boyfriend and it was the best night of my life (it really was!). I received quite a few awards at a end of year ceremony, which included monetary awards for college!  We went on two trips, one for a band trip to Virgina and the other was my senior trip to Ocean City, Maryland !I graduated with a 92 average, which put me within the top 20 of my class. I got the John Philip Sousa Band award at my graduation ceremony. I also enrolled at a local community college for my freshman year of college.

My tips for high school:

1) Act yourself!

2) Join clubs and/or sports teams

I am also going to be doing a reflection on my college years as well :)

My Birchbox Story!

I have been pretty much obsessed with my Birchbox subscription lately and though I would share with you how I exactly got stared with Birchbox.

For those of you who don't know, Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get samples of beauty products every month in the mail, for only $10.00 dollars!

Back in January 2012, I had signed up for the MyGlam beauty bags and thought it was a really cool concept. I had participated in the service for a few months and thought it wasn't very good. The products weren't all that great, everybody got basically the same things and the customer service wasn't spectacular. I did like the bags but besides that there was nothing special about MyGlam.

After I cancelled by MyGlam subscription, I wanted to try a different service out. I decided on Birchbox for several reasons. First, I heard they had excellent customer service. Second, they had a great selection of products they gave out to subscribers. Third, the reward system/ store  was very intriguing to me.

I have been with Birchbox now since the spring and it has been such a rewarding experience! I have tried so many new products and have found some new favorites too! My favorite things to get in a Birchbox are perfume samples and the lifestyle extras :)

Online Shopping: My favorite places to shop!

I recently posted a video on my YouTube channel called Online Shopping Tips and Tricks and I thought a cool post to tie into this video, would be a post about my favorite places to do online shopping! I tend to do a decent amount of online shopping since you can always find amazing deals online, sometimes even better than in stores. Here are my top places to shop online:

I love Stylemint! I have a few Ts from the website and they are the best quality. They are super soft! Stylemint is a monthly-subscription service for $29.99 per month. You can choose to skip a month at any time.

Jewelmint is another one of those sites where it is a monthly subscription servie for only $29.99 per month except Jewelmint is for jewelry! There jewelry is very nice quality and I haven't had any issues with a piece breaking.

LuLu*s is an online boutique which specializes in trendy clothing and accessories for young adults.

Modcloth specializes in vintage clothing, accessories and house ware! They can be a wee bit expensive!

These are my four favorites places to do online shopping but I also love ordering from Forever21, American Eagle, DSW and many other big-box stores online as well because you can get great online discounts!

What are your favorite store to do online shopping?

I bought a new purse!

For those of you who have been following my blog and youtube channel for  while, you would know that I have a huge obsession with Coach handbags and accessories. I went to the mall today and in search of some Labor days sales, but I only bought a few things. I bought a couple shirts at Old Navy and two candles at Bath and Body works. My mall was so packed full of people I didn't get to do a lot of shopping!

Anyways, I have been lusting over this Coach handbag for a few weeks now and decided to go ahead and splurge.

Coach madison tote

Coach Madison Leather Tote in Black

I decided on this handbag for several reasons. First, I wanted a more structured handbag. A tote usually has more structure than your average handbag or purse. Second, I love the silver hardware and silver chain accents. Third, I love the size of this tote. It isn't too big, so that it would make me look like im being held down when wearing it. It also isn't a very heavy tote. I also love that you can carry this as a should bag because the handles have a nice space beneath them

This bag retails for $298.00 dollars on the Coach website.

Let's just say I wouldn't be doing any shopping until Black Friday :)

*This post is not sponsored. I purchased the handbag with my own money.
