I know this post might be going up a little bit early as Valentine's Day is still a little bit over a month away, but I collaborated with Avianne from The Body Silk Blog and to create this tag! • Homemade or store-bought gifts? I don't really have a preference to be honest but homemade gifts are always add more of a personal touch to a gift

• What did you wear last valentine's day? We didn't do anything special for valentine's day last year, so it was just a casual outfit, jeans and a sweater

• Favorite Valentine's day memory? I don't have many good memories of valentine's day but I always like getting little goodie bags from my mom

Get to Know Me: Beauty Blogger Tag

Hi everybody! I know I have been lacking in both the youtube and blogging worlds, but today I wanted to do this simple post so you could get to know me a bit better! I saw Amie over on Belle-amie  do this post and thought is was the perfect fit for my blog!

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?

My hair is very curly. It is also very thick, which makes it impossible to work with. Unless I invest in a good hair straightener, it doesn't straighten very easily.

2. Do you dye your hair yourself or go to a salon?

I have only dyed my hair a few times in my life and it was all at home, using store-bought dyes. I have had black hair, auburn hair, and even highlights.

3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?

I usually wear my hair up in a pony tail everyday. Sometimes I'll wear a headband to change things up a bit.

4. Do you do your own manicures and pedicures or do you go to a salon?

I have only had my nails done twice at a salon, one from Prom and one with my sister. I usually just do them at home because it's cheaper.

5. How often do you change your nail polish?

I usually change it 1-2 times per week depending on how chipped it is

6. Do you paint your toes in the Winter or just in the Summer?

II paint my toes all year long. Plus, in the winter in can last forever!

7. Do you plan your outfit of the day the night before or just decide when getting dressed?

I always pick my clothes out in the morning when I get ready for work. I rarely decide the night before what I am going to wear unless I come up with a cool outfit idea.

8. How often do you change of your handbag?

I would say I switch it up maybe every few months. If I buy a new bag, I tend to use it for a while before reverting back to a different bag. In the spring/summer, I change them up more.

9. How long does it take you to put on your makeup?

It usually only takes me 5-10 minutes because I don't do a full "face" routine of foundation, concealer, etc.

10. What do you do first? Face or eyes?

If I actually were to wear face makeup (which I do on rare occasions), I always do my face makeup first.

11. Do you collect makeup or do you just buy what you need when you need it?

I would say I am in the middle of the aisle here. I have a much smaller collection than I use to because I gave away a lot of makeup and threw out makeup that was old and/or expired. I like trying new products, so every so often I will pick up some new things.

12. How often do you wear false eyelashes?

I have never worn fake eyelashes and don't think I would have the patience to every wear them.

13. Do you wear a full face of makeup everyday?

I would say 90% of the time I wear a full face of makeup. For me, that would consist of: primer, powder, eyeshadow, mascara and a lip balm. I rarely wear a bb cream, unless my skin is looking dreaful.

14. Will you leave the house without makeup?

Yes! I usually do this on weekends when I am running errands.

15. How many high end products do you own?

I own a few. I have a couple MAC lipsticks, a lot of Urban Decay eyeliners, and a few eyeshadows palettes and eyeshadow singles. I think the only high ends brands I have are MAC, Urban Decay, and theBalm.

16. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?

Typically, I got to bed around 10:00-10:30PM every night. I have issues in the morning, so I will wake up around 6:30AM. I actually set three alarms on my phone to help get my out of bed in the morning. 

17. How many pets do you have?

Right now, I have none. My landlord only allows cats. But, at my parents house, we have a dog named george.

18. How often are you on Blogger?

I actually prefer to read posts on Bloglovin, so I am only on Blogger when I am working on posts.

19. Do you read comments posted on blogs?

If the post I am reading is very interesting, yes I tend to read the comments. I always try to reply to your comments on my blog, even if it is a simple 'thank you'

20. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?

I have this on my About Me page, but I currently use the Canon Powershot ELPH 300 HS. It is a simple point and shoot digital camera. I want to upgrade to a better camera very soon. I am very interested in the Canon PowerShot SX50 HS 12MP Digital Camera with 2.8-Inch LCD (Black)

1. Name a beauty regime that you rarely do.
I don't do a very good job at maintaining my eyebrows. I get them waxed every 6-8 weeks and rarely pluck them.
2. Is washing your make-up brushes something you do regularly?
I wish! I am so lazy when it comes to washing my brushes.
3. How long will you last with chipped nail polish?
It honestly depends on how bad they are chipped. It like half of the polish on one nail is gone, then yes, I will redo them.
4. How long do you put off buying/ replacing a beauty or nail polish product, even if you need it? (e.g. purchasing a new top coat or foundation)
I will usually buy a replacement before I run out of the product, that way I won't be scrambling to use something I like that is so,so or I don't like.
5. What is your worst beauty habit?
Touching my face. I know this is a terrible habit and cause your skin to breakout but it is just an old habit that need to die!
6. Name something non-beauty related that you put off all the time.
Do the dishes. I will wait until the sink is full to do them, else I will leave them until the last minute when I cant find a space to put other dirty dishes.
7. When going out somewhere do you leave getting ready to last minute or not?
Yes. I don't wear a ton of makeup, so it usually only takes me 15-20 minutes to get ready and be out the door.
8. Can you commit to a spending ban?
I have done this before and I don't buy as much as I used to because I have my own apartment now and can't be foolishly spending my money.
9. How organised is your make-up and nail polish collection?

10. What is the longest amount of time you have gone without writing a blog post?
I think about maybe a couple weeks at the longest when I was either too busy or had no motivation.

1) What fall trend are you most excited for?
I absolutely love wearing boots and scarfs in the fall!

2) What is your favorite fall beauty product?
My favorite fall beauty product would have to be dark nail polish. It's harder to pull of these colors any other time of the year.

3) What is your favorite fall drink?
Chai Tea Latte! I absolutely love Starbucks' Chai Tea Latte!

4) What is your favorite fall scent?
Anything Pumpkin! I love my Bath & Body Works Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin Candle!

5) Which fall trend do you hate?
Red Hair. I did dye my hair an auburn red one time and It turned out terrible!

6) What is your halloween costume this year?
I will working on a very important project Halloween for work, so I will not have time to dress up, but I will definitely have lots of candy in my apartment!

7) What is your favorite fall song?
I don't have any music I listen to specifically in the fall.

How did you get started blogging & what keeps you doing it? 

I started writing my original blog as an outlet, something private from my friends & family. Now I blog, because I love it! It is so awesome to be able to express my passion in both video and blog form! I don't work in the beauty industry, so this is my little piece of it :)

What do you think makes you unique?

My blog is far from unique. There re thousands of beauty and lifestyles blogs on the internet.

What's your favorite thing about yourself?

When I find something I like to do, stick with it; I don't give up.

Where do you see your blog in 5 years?

I want to still be writing. 

I would love to work with some beauty brands.

I want to have more viewers/followers.

What's the best tip you've ever received about blogging?

Be yourself.

How does blogging affect your real life and vice versa?

I figured out how to wear makeup properly! I was introduced to IMATS and other beauty trade shows.

I was able to connect to my younger sister through our obsession with makeup and beauty.

What is something you're actively working toward and how are you getting there?

My career advancement. I am looking into enrolling in courses through a really interesting site called coursera, where you can take free online classes through 80+ universities throughout the world. I am also looking into working towards my PMP certification and possible a Masters Degree.

What is your absolute beauty must have, and why?

Mascara.

I can wear only mascara and feel confident.

If money wasn't an issue, what would you run out and buy right now?

Easy! A trip to Europe for a few months. I  want to visit all the major cities!

What is one beauty tip you feel that everyone should know?

Take off your makeup before you go to bed. It helps prevent breakouts.

Who's your freebie (if you're married-the one person/celebrity you can cheat with without it being cheating) or you're single, your number one celebrity crush?

I don't really have any celebrity crushes.

The Skincare Tag!

Jess from Just Jess recently did this tag video and I have seen it going around the blogging world and though it would make a nice addition to my blog!

Describe your skincare in five words:
Cleanse, Moisturizer, Tone, Sleep, Natural

What's your skin type?
I have combination skin. My skin is dry and gets oily in my t-zone.

What's your favorite skincare product?
Mine would be my daily moisturizer, which is my Sephora Instant Moisturizer  It does wonders for my dry and skin and I discovered it from watching youtube videos!

Top blemish zapper:
I haven't found one product that works very great for this but the ELF Zit Eraser is what I currently use to reduce size and redness of acne.

Face wipes - yay or nay?
Yay! I could not live without face wipes. I use them everyday to remove my makeup. I also use a face wash in the shower every morning to remove anything the wipes did not take off the previous evening.

Toner - yay or nay?
Eh? I haven't notice that toner makes a huge difference in my skincare routine. I use it once or twice a week, if I remember.

High-end skincare or high-end makeup?
There are a lot of great high-end skincare products but I would prefer to spulrge on high end makeup because there are so many great drugstore skincare products on the market!

What's the most unusual skincare product you've ever tried?
Toothpaste. I have tried using toothpaste on acne to reduce redness and all it does it make a mess on my face :)

You're in a French pharmacy and can only pick one item - what is it?
I have no idea! I have never been to France and don't know of any French makeup/skincare brands!

Always take off your makeup before you go to bed!

Did other blogs convince you to start up your own?
Kinda of. I saw other Youtubers making blogs and thought it was a really cool idea, so I figured why not? I really enjoy blogging now!

Have you joined a site because someone else in the blogosphere did?
Yes, HelloCotton and Bloglovin.

Is there a tip/regime you've got from the Internet that you use now?
I basically learned how to apply makeup. The only thing I knew prior to making youtube videos and blogging, was how to wear mascara.

If your favourite Youtuber/blogger likes a product, will that make you buy it?
It would depend if the product wuld work for me. For exmaple, not all foundations and/or skincare products work for everybody because we all are different.

What do you look for in a blog that makes you want to follow?
The layout, the posts, there are many things.

Have you ever been deceived by a product that you ordered online? (e.g you thought it would be pink but it was coral)
Yes, but it was something I picked up at Walmart (post coming soon).

Have promo pictures and press releases given you the impression that a product will be better than it is?
Yes but I can't think of a product that I have purchased that wasn't as good as the promo.

Is there a product you could give a 'cult' status for being so good that you discovered through the internet?
Yes! The Maybelliene Baby Lips! They are so moisturizing and smell amazing!

Is there a product you've tried and hated but others have loved?
The Urban Decay Primer Potion. It creased on me.

Is there a blogger/Youtuber who influences your fashion style? If so, who?
I would say that no particular person influences my style, but I LOVE outfitposts !

Is there a blogger/Youtuber who influences your attitude each day/lifestyle?
I think Rebecca Kelsey because she always looks for the best in people and always tries to have a positive attitude in life.

Beauty Things I Suck At!

Here are a few things I cannot do well at all realting to beauty/fashion/makeup:

1) Applying eyeliner on my upper lash line
For whatever reason, this might like the most trivial thing for most people but for me, it's impossible

2) Doing anything with my hair

You would think that being a girl, it would come naturally but for me it does not! I can't braid my hair, I can't curl my hair, I can't straighten my hair!!

3) Painting my nails

I almost always find a way to smudge my nails before they are dry because I don't have much patience when it comes to waiting for my nails to dry

4) Taking my makeup off at night

This is really just a bad habit but I always forget to take my makeup off before I go to bed

5) Wearing heals

If I wear a pair of shoes with a heel more than two inches, I can't walk in them and I look super awkward!

A Christmas Story Tag!

I  saw a fellow blogger, Erin, create this tag and I thought it would be the perfect post as Christmas is only a few days away!

1. What is your favorite Christmas tradition now or when you were growing up?
My favorite tradition is watching a Christmas movie on Christmas Eve before we head to bed. It's a nice relaxing way to end the night. We also wear special PJs on Christmas Eve that my mom goes and picks out for us every year, some cheesy Christmas design is on them.

2. What does your Christmas dinner consist of?
I am Italian, so typically there is always Lasagna or some sort of pasta. But for a main dish, we always have a Ham.

3. What is your favorite way to relax during the holidays?
Listening to music and reading a good book is always relaxing for me

4. Do you like homemade gifts or bought gifts?
Homemade gifts are always extra special to me. My grandmother made me a hat one year and I wear it every winter when it gets extra cold outside. She also recently made me a blanket that I  put on my bed when it gets extra cold at night.

5. What is your favorite winter lip product?
Chapstick! My lips always get super dry and chapped in the winter, so I always need to have a chapstick with me.

6. What is Christmas morning like at your house?
We always get up early and open our presents then my mom makes us a yummy breakfast.

7. What is your all-time favorite Christmas movie?
The Polar Express. It's based on the children's book and it is such a good film! I highly suggest you watch it and I heard it is on Netflix now!!

8. What does your Christmas list consist of?
This year it is a few makeup products and some skincare products but I don't have a huge list this year.

9. What is your Christmas Eve traditions?
We go to Christmas Eve service at church and then we go home and watch a Christmas movie before we go to sleep

10. What is your favorite "Christmasy" drink?
My favorite Christmas drink is hot chocolate, with extra marshmallows or whipped cream!

1. What is your earliest beauty memory? 

My earliest beauty memory is when I was middle school and wanted to wear makeup to my 8th grade semi-formal dance.

2. What was your first beauty purchase?

I can't remember my first purchase exactly, but I think it was a mascara from the drugstore

3. When did you first wear makeup?

I first started wearing makeup when I was in 8th grade. I didn't wear it a lot, only for special occasions.

4. When was your first beauty disaster?

My beauty disaster was when I tried applying eyeliner for the first time. It got all over my face and it looked terrible.

5. Who was your first beauty crush?

I can't remember having a beauty crush but I always wanted to look like Hillary Duff. She was probably one of my first beauty crushes because I grew up watching 'Lizzie McGuire' on Disney Channel.

6.What was your first brand crush?

My first brand crush was MAC. Once I got interested in makeup, all I wanted to buy was MAC. It was really expensive, so I never bought anything but I always was checking out the new collections.

7. What is your longest standing beauty love?

My longest standing beauty love is mascara. I feel comfortable leaving the house with just mascara on.
